DIEGO, Calif., July 26, 2007 --- Defense communications
product orders continue to remain strong for Cubic Defense
Applications, the defense segment of Cubic Corporation
(Amex: CUB), with approximately $15 million in sales in
FY07 for communications and direction-finding (DF) equipment.
The Canadian Department of National Defence has ordered
$1.2 million worth of Cubic’s direction-finding
(DF) systems. Cubic has now sold close to $3 million of
these systems to Canada in the past two years for intelligence,
surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) needs, with additional
orders expected in 2007.
Cubic also received a $1.2 million order for multiple
sets of its CDA 3280 and CDR 3580 VHF/UHF receivers from
Argon ST of Fairfax, Virginia. The VHF/UHF receivers are
part of Increment E of the U.S. Navy’s Ship's Signal
Exploitation Equipment (SSEE) communications program.
Cubic Defense Applications (CDA), one of Cubic Corporation’s
major segments, is a world leader in realistic combat
training systems, mission support services and defense
electronics. The corporation's other major segment, Cubic
Transportation Systems, designs and manufactures automatic
fare collection systems for public mass transit authorities.
