Cubic to Showcase Latest Combat Training Products and Simulation Capabilities at ITEC

BRUSSELS, Belgium --- May 12, 2009 -- Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB) will showcase new training technologies and modeling and simulation capabilities that enhance readiness for joint, coalition and multi-service missions, with an emphasis on dismounted soldier virtual training aids, at the ITEC 2009 trade show planned May 12-14 in Brussels.

Cubic will present fully integrated live, virtual, constructive (LVC) solutions that help war fighters prepare for unconventional combat at Stand E110 at ITEC.

At the show, Cubic will host a special live demo of the EST Dismounted Solution (EST DS), Cubic's new virtual squad leader training system. EST DS is an enhanced version of Cubic's EST 2000 Engagement Skills Trainer, the U.S. Army's standard small arms training system. EST DS allows trainees to engage simulated enemies on high-resolution projection screens while replicating actual weapon performance in a virtual domain. EST DS provides the cutting-edge capabilities of EST 2000 but can operate in a compact space.

Cubic's solutions enable multinational air and land forces to train jointly and span a wide range of capabilities. These capabilities include:

P5 Combat Training System - Already installed at more than a dozen U.S. bases, Cubic's fifth generation air combat training system includes airborne instrumentation pods and Cubic's Individual Combat Aircrew Display System (ICADS™) debriefing system. A NATO-friendly version of the P5 system will be fielded soon in Poland. It features an air-to-air data link that operates in S Band, the preferred training frequency for European air forces.

Ground Combat Training Instrumentation - Cubic will highlight its MILES Individual Weapon System (MILES IWS) laser engagement system, recently fielded at the U.S. Army's National Training Center at Fort Irwin, California, and to the Land Forces of Romania, as well as a new MILES laser system featuring wireless technology. Cubic will also highlight its deployable, fully instrumented combat training centers in Romania and Slovakia. A variation of Cubic's combat training center instrumentation can be used for real-world emergency management for first-responders and training. Other innovative advances include an experimental LiveTrack force-on-target training system, and tunnel instrumentation developed for the British Army Training Unit Suffield (BATUS) facility in Alberta, Canada.

Modeling & Simulation - Cubic Applications, Inc. will highlight its capability to design and execute computer-based constructive simulation training events for staff and leader development training as well as civilian participants. Cubic currently supports multiple simulation programs in Romania, Ukraine and Lithuania, and has extensive experience in exercise management and employing constructive simulation models used by NATO forces, the U.S. joint community and civil authorities. Cubic also provides important modeling and simulation support to NATO countries for CBRNE (Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear and High-Yield Explosives) exercises through the Defense Threat Reduction Agency.
