Cubic On Board with MTS and the San Diego Chargers;
Sponsors Commemorative Transit Pass

SAN DIEGO, Calif. - January 12, 2010 - When it comes to the San Diego Chargers, many of their biggest fans work for Cubic Corporation (NYSE: CUB). To show support for the team’s January 17 playoff game and to help Chargers fans beat the traffic to get there, Cubic's transportation subsidiary, the supplier of San Diego's Compass Card, the smart card system for public transit, is sponsoring production of commemorative day passes for its valued customer, the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS).

Available at Chargers Team Store at Qualcomm Stadium and the MTS Transit Store in downtown San Diego, the MTS special Day Pass is valid on January 17 for one day of unlimited riding on most MTS Trolley and Bus services. The Day Pass is not valid on Chargers Express Bus Service, which requires a $10 round-trip fare. Chargers fans are also invited to enter a contest to win one of five free Compass Cards for free travel to all of the Chargers 2010 regular season home games. Entry rules can be found at www.511sd.com/compass or at the MTS Transit Store located at 102 Broadway.

The San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) contracted with San Diego-based Cubic Transportation Systems to design and build the Compass Card fare collection system. Participating operators include Metropolitan Transit System, which operates the San Diego Trolley and MTS buses, and North County Transit District’s Breeze bus system, COASTER train and SPRINTER light-rail.

"We're excited for this opportunity to show our support for the home team and for our customer, whose services make it so easy and painless to travel to Qualcomm Stadium," said Steve Shewmaker, President of Cubic Transportation Systems.

Cubic Corporation's Chairman and CEO, Walter J. Zable, is probably Cubic's No. 1 football fan. As a teenager, he earned a football scholarship to attend Virginia's College of William & Mary and graduated with degrees in mathematics and physics in 1937. He played pro football for a time with the Richmond Arrows and New York Giants and today supports a number of sports-related organizations in San Diego. The local San Diego chapter of the National Football Foundation/College Hall of Fame is known as the Walter J. Zable Chapter.

Mr. Zable also sponsors NFF/CHF's annual awards banquet which honors local scholar-athletes who may become "the Chargers of tomorrow." Junior Seau is a 1987 NFF/CHF honoree. This year's awards banquet is scheduled March 19 and will honor 26 high school and several college students in the San Diego area. Former Charger linebacker Bob Babich serves on the organization's Board of Directors. Mr. Zable has also provided generous support to his alma mater, the College of William & Mary, where the football stadium is named in his honor.
